I design for clarity
in complex systems
or everyday life.
Work & Philosophy
I’m a Senior Product Designer at Microsoft, focused on turning complex, technical problems into usable and trustworthy experiences. My work sits at the intersection of people, systems, and emerging technology.
As AI evolves, I’ve had the chance to design for powerful new capabilities. But I believe it should enhance the experiences we build, not replace them. Technology shouldn’t trade clarity or intuition for scale. We still need structure, empathy, and ethics, especially when our tools shape how people work, learn, and make decisions.
Design is a responsibility. That’s the mindset I bring to every product, every pattern, every decision.
Personal story
I grew up in the Philippines at a time when technology lagged behind and conformity was expected. We were taught to follow the rules, work hard, and succeed — even when systems weren’t always built for us. That shaped how I work today: focused, adaptive, and grounded.
As an immigrant, I’ve learned to move between different cultures and expectations. Design helps me connect those experiences and make things clearer for others.
Reflections & takes

On the fun side,
I started writing a children’s book while pregnant with Isla… Just playing with prompts and story ideas to create the illustrations.
Outside of work, I love creating stories, spaces, images. It’s how I stay curious and connected to myself.

Pale & Bright
A fun interior project I did with my husband, Nick. We styled our old townhouse by blending our tastes. Mine leans pale and minimal, his bold and bright. The result: a lived-in, eclectic mix with mid-century roots.

Art
No specific style, no rules, just something I do to unwind. I draw what I can, when I can. It’s one of my favorite ways to clear my head.
And lastly — I love to travel. Follow my journey!
When design work takes a pause, I'm off exploring with my family. Dive into my travel chronicles on Instagram @floramaydc!
I began my journey in Edinburgh, where I was immediately struck by the rich history and culture of the city. Edinburgh Castle, a symbol of Scotland's rich history, was a must-see for us. I also visited the Camera Obscura, an interactive museum that offers stunning views of the city from its rooftop terrace. And for all you Harry Potter fans out there, I couldn't help but be inspired by the charming Victoria Street, which served as the inspiration for Diagon Alley.
